Crete

Today was a great day! We arrived at the port of Crete (Heraklion) and promptly left for the palace of Knossos. Wow, it was so interesting and did you know that there are no pictures of war left by these happy people? Sir Arthur Evans discovered this site in the late 1800s and it is spectacular. We then went to the museum

and saw the artifacts from the palace (the picture just downloaded from Troy! sorry bout that, it's a little out of order, and that is the trojan horse) and then went to the third concert and heard some more beautiful music...then Mimi and I explored the city, spent money, and then took a taxi ride with a really nice looking young unmarried greek (did I say single) man with a mercedes taxi... he couldn't speak English. And I don't know enough greek to get us to the port, except they told us the "code" word "Karnagious" which he had no clue what we were talking about... then finally we found the ship and we were all laughing and trying to communicate... it was an experience. We learned the word for "single" in greek....can't remember it now... it's a long word...

ok, now I am going to attempt some more pics since it is working! yippee!
